One of the last places you may expect to have found us was a secluded mountainous range in the north of the United Kingdom. With this being said, this is one of the best holidays that we have ever been on, and we will explain why in this short write up from Jason.

What We Did

We decided to go to the Lake District because we had heard that it was one of the best places in the world for ‘extreme’ mountain biking, and we can confirm that this is the case! We managed to explore off road biking, which overlooked some of the finest views that either of us had ever seen.

We discovered that the Lake District was a great place to bike from a friend who suggested that we try some of the man-made mountain biking tracks, explore some road cycling and freestyle as much as we could. One of the things that we enjoyed was biking on some of the roads because the views were simply astonishing.

We also explored the local villages, which were exactly as we expected. Biking down to them to get our supplies was one of the highlights, because we met some really great people who were more than accommodating.

Accommodation

One of the best bits about the trip has to be the accommodation, which we would describe as traditional. We stayed in one of many Lake District cottages in the area. The area around the accommodation was simply breathtaking and something that needs to be seen to be believed. Our cottage was the ideal place to relax. There was even one night when we both said that we felt as if there was nobody else in the world. This made it easy to edit the footage that we shot on the Helmet Cam earlier in the day when we were biking.

We loved the Lake District for a number of reasons. The biking conditions are perfect because the weather is never too hot, but not so cold that it is unbearable. We also got a great deal on a typically English cottage, which added something different to our trip.
